This time, the BBC World News header was followed by the story of a young Palestinian school girl, Iman Darweesh Al Hams, who was shot by Israeli Defense Forces on October 05, 2004.

This Image Tracer tracks the image URLs found through Google Image Search and documents changes over time. The script checks whether images are still available, whether they have changed in rank (i.e. do they show up higher or lower in the Google image result list?) and whether new ones were added. Unlike Google image search, The Image Tracer meticulously archives the history of any image search you decide to track, and might help you find patterns and significant changes that would otherwise remain invisible.
Over de wenselijkheid van een geschiedschrijver op het internet

In een door Stichting de Geuzen georganiseerde brainstormsessie is gediscussieerd over de wenselijkheid van een geschiedschrijver op het Internet. Het Internet is volgens velen een publieke vrijplaats omdat haar geheugen van iedereen is. Dat deze vrijheidsmedaille een keerzijde heeft, bleek uit een door Stichting de Geuzen gepresenteerde casus; de overvloed aan ongeïdentificeerde foto’s op het Internet, die al naar gelang de willekeur van de gebruiker kunnen verschijnen of verdwijnen. Een casus die op scherp werd gesteld naar aanleiding van de beeltenis van een door Israëlische soldaten vermoord Palestijns meisje wier beeltenis door verschillende belanghebbende geannexeerd werd. In feite verwerd de beeltenis van dit meisje hierdoor tot icoon. Het meisje werd als het ware losgemaakt van haar eigen verleden en daarmee dubbel vermoord.
